Let it snow: Three Holiday Romances

Lately I have been reading a lot of Jhon Green and I discovered this cooperation with Maureen Johnson, Lauren Myracle and John Green. Like “Love Actually” the book is divided in three chapters, which feature different stories who somehow get together.
The Jubilee express by Maureen Johnson
Jubilee has to go on a train from Virginia to Florida at Christmas Eve, because her parents are arrested for being involved in a riot over a set of tiny decorative houses called Flobie Village. She has only a few more stations to go to visit her grandparents, when the train gets stuck in a snow storm. In this difficult her so called perfect boyfriend Noah is leaving her alone. She does not know that she will end up stuck in a frozen river with a complete stranger, when she decides to leave the broken train to go to a waffle house on the other side of the street.
A Cheertastic Christmas Miracle by John Green
Tobin has two best friends: JP and the Duke. They are so close, that both sometimes forget that the Duke is actually a girl. They are called by another friend to leave their “James Bond” marathon to go to a waffle house just to meet some cheerleaders. Tobin realises, that there could be more than just friendship between him and the Duke, as they face two bullies a car crash and “twister”.
The Patron Saint of Pigs by Lauren Myracle
Addie has messed it up. She has cheated on her boyfriend, Jeb, who happens to be Mr. Right. She wanted to meet him, but he didn’t come, she called him, but he didn’t answer. Her friends Debbie and Tegan disagree with everything and the world just seems to be against her. Still she wants to pick up Tegans new pet, a little tea cup pig, but she forgets about it and now disaster strikes, when only Charlie, the boy she cheated on with, can help her.
I like stories that are all different, but somehow go along with another. My favourite one was The Jubilee Express, second A Cheertastic Christmas Miracle and my least favourite The Patron Saint of Pigs. I loved the character of Jubilee and how her live was perfect, but changed, because of something no one could see. I think, that it was quite good to show, that perfect guys like her boyfriend also have their flaws and can be idiots too. This story is a perfect love story for the snowy days. I liked going on an adventure with Tobin, JP and Angie. It was fun to see, that I am not the only person having trouble with ordering at Starbucks a first and how JP got along with his friend falling in love with his best friend. This story, is great for those who seek adventure and the problems about the friend zone. But the character of Addie was depressing and blinded by self-pity. She was so negative and really dumb at some points of the story. I don’t think that she deserves a guy like Jeb. But all in all, it was a good book even though I read it in summer. I would give it eight lemondrops (two lemons).
