DOCTOR WHO the official 50th anniversary annual

The annual for the 50th anniversary was released a while ago – 2013 – but still I consider it as the best and most beautiful one. Doctor Who is the longest running science fiction TV show in history. It is about the timelord called the Doctor. He possesses the ability to travel in time and space in the TARDIS, a time machined disguised as regular police box. His entire race was killed in a war against his worst enemies, the daleks. Together with his companions that change as he does he saves planets and mostly the human race. You can find a more detailed description on Doctor Who here
The book contains general facts about the Doctor, the TARDIS and the aliens/monster that appear throughout the entire series. With colourful pictures and a galactically layout the annual is full of facts and everything that a whovian heart desires. Starting with comics, to the timeline of Doctors and companions to short stories and a quiz and games, this book is full of geekiness.
I really love this book and it is one of my dearest possessions alongside with my Harry Potter merchandise and my 10th Doctor Pop! Funko. I got it as a present, but even the price of £ 7.99 it really is affordable. The only thing I would have wanted in there was a little more detailed description of the companions. Their names were just mentioned next to the Doctor they accompanied and they really deserve more than that. I loved the back cover as it was a montage of all the eleven Doctors (in 2013 the 12th Doctor wasn’t announced yet). The whole design of the book just took my breath away. The explosions of colour as they are at the beginning of each episode are just magnificent .If you happen to have a friend who loves Doctor Who, this would be a perfect present for him.
